We recently picked up this 1964 El Camino at a swap meet at Minnesota State Fairgrounds. It was originally an Arizona car, so very little rust. No apparent holes, minimal surface rust, and body is in really nice shape. We have been driving it back and forth from the shop on parts runs.
We did update the ignition to 70's HEI. Rebuilt Carburetor. Did a compression test (130-135 lbs). Installed new valve cover gaskets & spark plugs. Brakes work really good, but did replace vacuum booster (was leaking a little at idle). Transmission works great. A/C is not presently working; compressor is loose, all parts are in tack, needs belt, and a recharge.
Overall, this is just a fun car to drive around!
